Personality: Star is rather quiet and keeps to himself while working. He doesn't speak much to patients other than the mandatory questions, and in the field studying wildlife is completely silent. However, when off-duty or not focused on a task, he will make conversation. It may be unsettling though, due to the fact that Nova Chasers communicate telepathically. He's generally kind-hearted, and has a weak spot for children, he keeps a jar of candies near his work station for occasions when he treats the young ones. Overall, not a bad guy, as long as you don't mind frequent lapses of silence and a voice inside your head.

Backstory: Born on the highest mountain peak on Collmoros, called Illamanki, Star grew up with his parents and, eventually, a younger sister. He spent much of his time to himself, though he would entertain his younger sister when his parents went out to do whatever it was that they did, whether it be hunting or stargazing. When the first ships made contact with the planet, he was intrigued, and went to investigate. As Tranquility-1 was founded, he was right there, informing anyone who would listen on the best places to build the facility and how to keep the employees safe from the native predators. Eventually, he decided to work there, and became the head biologist.
Quick Species Summary: Nova Chasers, the final sentient and most intelligent species on Collmoros, seem to be largely indifferent to the world below them. They tend to live on the highest peaks in pairs, and you can occasionally see them streaking across the sky, their bright glowing manes leaving faint trails at night. They are omnivores, but only eat the non-sentient species of the planet, and do not appear to have any predators.
There is little distinction between male and female, save that males seem to have lighter-colored skin and slightly shorter arms. While they lack wings, they have a specialized air-bladder that mixes a potent chemical with the surrounding atmosphere, allowing them to levitate. The flaps of skin in between their four pairs of lower limbs allows them to glide on the air currents and steer very precisely. Nova Chasers have, in total, seven pairs of limbs. The four main pair are used for walking and such, the two smaller pair between these may appear vestigial, but aide in arial maneuvers, pulling the gliding skin to change direction and height, and the final pair act as grabbing appendages, equipped with two fingers and a thumb. Their mouths are hidden in the mane ruff on their chest, and are vertical slits lined with many sharp, interlocking teeth.
Legend states that if a Nova Chaser chooses to accompany you through your life, your soul will become a star when you pass away.

Peering into the vacant living quarter rooms, he noticed that one of them had boxes, and another alien inside. Lifting up one of his front paws, he scratched gently on the door frame to announce his presence. Directing his telepathic voice towards the other in the room, he began to 'speak'. "Hello? You must be new here. I can always give you a tour of the facility if you would like!"

okay so I have a question! or several. is there (or could you write) a journal explaining the basic concept of the group? like, I understand that Collmoros is a planet, but what is Tranquil-1? How are the two related? Where does the group (and respective roleplays) take place?
also about joining -- You create a character and the species to which they belong, right? And you submit that before or after your member request is accepted? And then the Sharod is obtained ... later? But your actual RP char is your submitted character, or are both they and the Sharod rp-able?
